Your data in the Linkarp platform

On the Linkarp platform, participant focus is paramount.

Participants enjoy seamless access across all events with a single set of login credentials, yet their data remains confidential and inaccessible to other organizers.

As the organizer, you hold exclusive insight into your event's attendee list.

When it comes to participant data, ownership rests firmly with the participants themselves. You, as the organizer, have the ability to manage and export this data, while participants retain the power to delete or downsize information on their profiles at any time. Linkarp serves as the custodian of participant data, automatically removing inactive accounts after three consecutive years.

Privacy is at the core of our design philosophy. Each event operates privately and independently under the organizer's purview. Whereas the event type is public it will be accessible to anyone to attend. There are four types of events that can be hosted on the linkarp platform being Public, semi public, invite only and private events. Linkarp utilizes data solely for event-related purposes and does not engage in data selling or sharing practices.

Content data is under the ownership and control of the organizer, who can manage, export, and delete it as needed. Linkarp functions as a data processor in this regard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who has ownership of the data?

Let's clarify: Linkarp does not claim ownership of any data sets. They are either owned by the organizer or by the participants.

Content data belongs to the organizer, while profile data belongs to the participants.

Even though profile data technically doesn't belong to the organizer, they still have access to both sets of data and can export them from the platform. Participants, by registering for an event and logging into the platform, grant Linkarp permission to share their profile data with the organizer.

What can Linkarp do with the data?

Linkarp utilizes data solely for two purposes: to facilitate events and to support ongoing participant interactions within communities.

Linkarp is strictly prohibited from sharing, selling, or displaying advertisements based on the data. We do not engage in data selling practices or event organization. We are solely a technology engagement platform.

What is Linkarp's role?

Regarding personal data, Linkarp adheres to GDPR principles and the Kenyan Data Protection Act and the obligations associated with controller or processor roles as outlined by the regulation.

Linkarp acts as a processor for the organizer's content data, following the organizer's instructions and deleting content data upon request.

For profile data, Linkarp acts as the controller and enforces a privacy policy that each participant must accept before logging in. This policy grants participants the ability to modify, and delete their data at any time, including deleting their account entirely. If a participant does not log in for three consecutive years, their account is automatically deleted.

A participant-centric approach

Every participant using Linkarp maintains the same account across all events, regardless of whether it's on a white-label platform or not. However, each event operates within a separate environment with distinct participant data sets.

When a participant deletes their account, all related profile data is automatically deleted, and they lose access to the platform. This action cannot be reversed, as it directly affects personal data. Therefore, only the participant can delete their own account.

Is data shared between different organizers on Linkarp?

Data on Linkarp is exclusively used for event purposes, intended for the organizer and their participants only.

Events on Linkarp remain private within the platform. While organizers have access to all events within their community/brand, data is never shared with external organizers using the Linkarp platform.

What happens between events?

At the conclusion of an event, the organizer may choose to remove content data from the platform or make it available on-demand for participants to access post-event. This optional feature enables organizers to keep participants engaged between events. Similarly, participants can decide whether to delete their account or keep it active to access past or future events. The event links get extinguished after a period of time that the organizer chooses and the data that is on the app with regard to the equally gets extinguished

How AI enhances user experience

Linkarp utilizes artificial intelligence to offer matchmaking features and suggest relevant content to participants.

When users log in and complete their profiles with job titles, interests, and professional backgrounds, the AI system activates on their account and connects them with relevant people and content. As users interact with the platform, such as registering for sessions, joining thematic groups or exploring exhibitor booths, the AI learns their preferences and improves content suggestions.

Anonymized data is crucial for training our AI. Rest assured, only anonymized data, devoid of any identifiable information, is used to train our machine learning model. This ensures privacy while enhancing the participant experience. Furthermore, because the data is anonymized, recommendations cannot cross over between different communities or events.

Linkarp also provides statistical reports and analyses based on content and profile data. These insights are exclusively shared with the event organizer, empowering them to understand macro behavioral trends and make informed decisions for future events. Such reporting is invaluable in optimizing event experiences.
